“The Fortis team is extremely professional, quick to respond, and most importantly, they get results.  If you are looking for legal help, these guys are the best I have worked with thus far and I highly recommend you do what I did not and call them before you make any big decisions.”

Successful Client Results

Litigation Successes

Our litigation team continues to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in a range of matters across Colorado and the U.S. Our clients range from individuals to multinational corporations, and they all find thoughtful, tenacious advocates in Fortis attorneys.

  • Henry Baskerville and Liz Hartsel won a victory on behalf of our client following a trial in Arapahoe County.  The dispute involved a breach of contract and promissory estoppel claims arising out of a job offer that was contingent upon the employee obtaining security clearance.  The Court found in favor of our client, the employer, on the claim of breach of contract on a directed verdict, and the claim for promissory estoppel at the close of trial.

Transactional Successes

Our business lawyers represented buyers and sellers in numerous M&A transactions—closing five deals in September alone. If you’re buying or selling a company, making or taking an investment, or conducting other business transactions, we have the experience to get the deal done efficiently while limiting your risk.

  • Congratulations to Fortis’s client Ebbu for reaching a deal with Canopy Growth under which Canopy will purchase the assets of the Colorado-based hemp research company.

  • We represented Little People’s Landing in connection with the sale of its eight early care and education centers to a strategic buyer.

We represented home rental company InvitedHome in the sale of two of its subsidiaries.

We advised a Denver-based food manufacturer/retailer in the sale of its wholesale business to a national wholesaler.

We represented a Colorado company in its $1.5M acquisition of a daycare franchise.
